The High School for Girls Gloucester invited me to deliver 6 50 minutes workshops to Year 9 pupils. Each class was split into 5 teams and were asked to analyse a toy, and then judge whether it was sustainable. They were asked to present in their teams to the rest of the class. They explained using a spider diagram how they arrived at their judgement by talking about production, materials, packaging and many more!

The workshop helped ignite sustainable conversation between pupils which they wouldn't usually have exposure to within the current curriculum. For homework I asked pupils to design a sustainable toy based on what they had learnt from the workshop. Each entry consisted of a description and annotated diagram of their toy. Over 60 entries were received - and gift vouchers for the best toy design were presented!
